Four years after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, what does the path forward for reproductive rights in America actually look like?

In the first episode of the new PopTalks podcast, Dr. Thoai Ngo sits down with Brigitte Amiri, Deputy Director of the ACLU’s Reproductive Freedom Project, who has spent more than two decades litigating some of the country’s most consequential reproductive rights cases.

Their conversation goes beyond the courts to examine the landscape after Dobbs: abortion bans, medication abortion, stigma, dignity, and what it will take to build reproductive rights that can endure political change.

As Amiri explains:

“I think one of the reasons why we got to the point of Dobbs is because abortion was so shamed and so stigmatized that it was easy for the Supreme Court to treat it as something other.”

What comes next? Amiri is clear-eyed about the challenges ahead—and equally clear about what it will take to build more durable reproductive rights.

PopTalks brings leading scientists, policymakers, advocates, innovators, and community leaders into candid conversations about the forces shaping population health and our collective well-being.

Episode 1 launches September 14. You’re invited to listen here.
